Andrea Coakley L.Ac.
Andrea L. Coakley, M.S., LAc.
Andrea is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Connecticut whose journey into Chinese Medicine began more than two decades ago through the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong. What started as an introduction to these profound healing traditions became a lifelong passion and ultimately inspired a major professional transition. After a successful 12-year career in Special Education, Andrea chose to follow her calling more deeply, devoting herself to the study and practice of Chinese Medicine.
She earned her Master of Science in Acupuncture from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, where she received comprehensive training in both Classical Chinese Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Her education was further enriched through study with Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th-generation Taoist priest of the Jade Purity Lao Zi School and one of the most respected teachers of Chinese Medicine. This foundation continues to influence Andrea’s approach, which honors the depth of traditional wisdom while remaining responsive to the unique needs of each individual.
Since 2008, Andrea has practiced in both private and community settings, caring for a diverse range of patients and drawing from multiple acupuncture styles to provide thoughtful, individualized treatment. Her work reflects a deep respect for the body’s innate capacity to heal and a belief that meaningful care begins with truly seeing and supporting the whole person.
Alongside her clinical practice, Andrea continues to cultivate the disciplines that first led her to Chinese Medicine. She is certified in multiple forms of Qigong and maintains an active connection to Tai Chi, Qigong, and Capoeira. For Andrea, movement is not only a practice but also a powerful therapeutic tool—one that can restore balance, support healing, and foster a greater sense of vitality and connection.
With warmth, skill, and a deeply rooted understanding of Chinese Medicine, Andrea brings a balanced and compassionate presence to her work, helping patients feel supported on their path toward greater health and well-being.
